It's unfair, Daddy!

This here is Metztli the moon god, Tlaloc’s arrogant, rich and handsome son who was due to be the sun god rather than Nana. (Like Tonatiuh, he was originally called by another name, which was Tecciztecatl.) But instead of embracing the opportunity, he became too cowardly to jump into the bonfire until after the turn of Nanahuatzin for the fire of the sun terrified him, and thus became downgraded from sun god to moon god when one of the gods who was clearly tired of Tecc’s spinelessness slapped a rabbit in his face. (And this ladies and gentlemen is why there is a shape resembling a rabbit on the moon!)

Just look at how cute Tonatiuh/Nana is! ;v; He’s so overwhelmingly happy with his new body having been cured of his eczema which crippled him. As the lowly god of misfortune, Nanahuatzin finally got his break. Metztli makes me feel unwilling to live on this planet anymore... and Tlaloc’s face just says it all.
